In stock

The Rose Bengal antigen test is a rapid, slide-based agglutination assay primarily used in veterinary medicine to screen for brucellosis, a highly contagious bacterial disease. It provides a fast, cost-effective way to detect the presence of anti-Brucella antibodies in the serum of livestock and domestic animals.

Specs & features.

The Rose Bengal test is a slide agglutination test for the qualitative
and semi-quantitative detection of anti-Brucella antibodies in human
serum. The reagent, because of its formulation in an acid buffer, is
reactive with both IgG and IgM antibodies and very useful for the
diagnosis of chronic individuals, which present a high level of IgG
antibody that is difficult to detect by the reference tube method
(Wright).

  • High Sensitivity: It effectively detects both IgG and IgM antibodies, making it highly reliable for identifying both acute and chronic stages of infection.
  • Acidified pH Mechanism: The acidic buffer suppresses non-specific, low-affinity reactions (like natural IgM clumping) while enhancing the specific binding of true Brucella antibodies.
  • Species Versatility: It is routinely used to screen cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs.
