Specs & features.

A standard veterinary microchip is a passive RFID transponder—meaning it has no internal battery and does not emit a GPS tracking signal. It consists of a tiny computer chip, a tuning capacitor, and an antenna coil, all safely sealed inside a biocompatible glass or polymer capsule.

No specifications have been listed.

  • Global Standard (ISO 11784/11785): Most chips operate at 134.2 kHz and adhere to the ISO 11784/11785 standards, ensuring global readability and compliance. This makes them ideal for international travel (such as entering Germany or the broader EU).
  • Biocompatible Material: The capsules are made of specialized bioglass (or have an anti-migration coating) which prevents the device from moving around beneath the skin.
  • Quick, Painless Procedure: The chip is inserted using a sterile hypodermic needle in a process similar to a standard vaccination. No anesthesia is required, and the pet usually recovers instantly. In dogs, it is generally placed under the skin on the left side of the neck or between the shoulder blades.
